With the release of his debut crime novel in 2020, Richard Osman, who was
previously best known in England as a TV personality and the host of the
British quiz series "Pointless" and "House of Games," gained recognition on a
global scale as a writer. The elderly detectives in "The Thursday Murder Club"
and its sequel, "The Man Who Died Twice," work out cold cases from their
cosy retirement community in the English countryside. Millions of copies of
the humorous, cheerful thrillers, or "cosy crime," as they have been called,
have been published, making them blockbusters on both sides of the Atlantic.
