On August 20, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja

welcomed a boy into the world. Sonam gave an interview to a magazine in the

last trimester of her pregnancy, during which she 

her future plans and her path toward motherhood. 

 The actor disclosed that the Covid-19 pandemic caused them to delay having their first child

, which they had planned to have in 2020. Sonam said
