$4.1B Google Fine Recommendation by European Court of Justice Regarding Mobile Network Scandal

The European Court of Justice fined Google €4.1 billion ($4.1 billion),

largely affirming the recent decision of the European Commission.

Recently, the Court said that it had upheld the finding that Google had

placed "illegal limitations on makers of Android mobile devices and

mobile network operators in order to consolidate the dominating

position of its search engine." The European Court of Justice stated that

the fact that the fine is a little lower than the Commission's suggestion

"reflects the intensity and duration of the breach."
